Summer Sunflowers

I was quickly addicted to watercolors. I created a palette full of beautiful colors. I read every library book I could on the subject. I was eager to learn. This painting was a lesson from one of those books.

My First Watercolor

The summer of 2006 I was taking my son to his art class at a nearby studio. He was taking art classes with Karen Clark. She was his GATE art teacher for years and later he took classes at her studio. One day as I was waiting to pick my son up I became intrigued with the watercolors on the studio walls. Karen encouraged me to sign up for a watercolor workshop. I still had A LOT to learn but an artist was born….
